Sweden’s Outdoor Access Rights (‘Allemansrätten’) gives you the right to roam in Swedish nature. That means that you can camp anywhere in Sweden that is not on or nearby private property or farms. The beautiful Swedish countryside is yours to explore, and you can even pick wild berries and flowers!

Camp anywhere in Sweden – Important Rules
- You are allowed to pitch two to three tents for a maximum of two nights in one place.
- You must not pitch a tent less than 70 metres away from private dwellings or cultivated land. So staying away from cultivated land is vital as no farmer will be happy for a tent on their crops.
- Tents are banned in certain areas such as parks and sports grounds which includes for instance a golf course:-)
- You must respect nature and wildlife – always take your trash with you!
- Always check with the local municipality for specific rules about camping in nature.
