Support and matching (stöd och matchning) and Prepare and Match (rusta och matcha) are programs for those who need intensive and individually adapted support when looking for a job. If The Swedish Public Employment Service (Arbetsförmedlingen) find that you are a good candidate for the programs, you will be assisted by a supervisor from one of the connected providers.

The supervisor will get you individually adapted support to help you to find a job or studies more quickly. For example, you can get help finding and applying for a job, creating application documents, contacts with employers, study and career guidance, study visits and language training. You have individual conversations with your supervisor once a week.

If you do not speak Swedish or English, you are entitled to participate in your native language.

You participate in the support program for three months and will then be evaluated. The support can be extended for another 3-6 months if necessary

How it works and how you find a provider

  • Start by applying to Arbetsförmedlingen about participating in the program.
  • Arbetsförmedlingen assess whether any of these programs is appropriate for you and what level suits you best. This is how they make their assessment.
  • You choose which provider you want. You can do this on Arbetsförmedlingens website and we show you the links further down.
  • You can search for providers locally and, for example, look at their methodology, language, or business knowledge. The providers are graded.
  • You let Arbetsförmedlingen know which provider you have chosen.
  • You and the provider develop a plan for how you can most quickly get a job or start studying.
  • If you feel the support is not meeting your needs you may switch provider.

Note: The tool to find providers is not translated to English

Support and Matching or Prepare and Match?

The two programs Stöd och Matchning and Rusta och Matcha are pretty much the same. But municipalities are connected to one of these programs. You therefore need to check which program your particular municipality is connected to.
